Planners’ comments
Park Wood was in lovely condition today and I hope my courses did it some justice! My aim was to get the blue and green competitors off the tracks and using other features for navigation, and from the response afterwards this seemed to happen. I also tried to create courses that would take a little longer to complete and that would need a bit of care. Thanks for all the positive comments afterwards, and I apologise for the control in the middle pit, which would have been better sited above the pit! I was surprised to see the press present and can only surmise that they had seen the posters that I put up 2 weeks ago. I also saw a lot of unfamiliar faces so that may also have been a result of the publicity. Judging by the number of maps left afterwards, there must have been a pretty good turnout. Finally I must thank Mike, Bob, Ruth, Andy, Jane, Chris, Jim and Sue for all their help today and Peter and Jaquie for the computing.
